Jonathan Carr: Composition #01
Okay, so I admit, I am having some serious issues with this composition. I don't understand why, but the skin tones of this reference picture are really bothering me, and I feel lame for choosing this reference over the many (quite attractive, may I add) photos I could have chose of my subject, a Mr. Jonathan Carr. I am using Prismicolor skin tones, and the usual suspect of paper (my favorite), pastel/charcoal medium toothed paper. I find it especially hard to draw someone I am so close to, as I know the contours of their face, the color detailing of their eyes, and I always scold myself if it doesnt strike me immediately as "him". I admit I have willingly started over three times atleast, and tomorrow, being his eighteenth birthday, its getting ridiculous. I am now moving on to other projects, and will have this one, hopefully, completed by February 17th or 18th, depending on how I pace myself. Lips and eyes are a problem for me on this project as well.
